Snap Happy!

I love taking pictures, I take my camera out and about everywhere I go, taking pictures of all sorts of different objects and wildlife. I’ve been using a Canon Powershot for the past two years, but after attending a short course I’ve been itching to get my hands on a proper DSLR camera.

It’s my birthday this coming Saturday, and as my parents have decided to jet off on holiday on my birthday I received an early present this weekend . . . a Canon 60d!

I can’t wait to get out and about and take some snaps, but in the meantime I’ve beenย  down to the river where we take Murphy for his evening stroll, and taken a few shots. I’m currently borrowing my Dad’sย  40mm macro lens, until I FINALLY settle on a lens to buy . . .

I was out between 7pm and 8pm when taking these shots, and there was a beautiful sunset which meant that the light was perfect for taking some photos. I LOVE taking close up macro shots, capturing the light and textures of natural forms, so I think I’ll be adding a macro lens to my Christmas list this year!

Now to find the perfect camera strap and bag . . .

Great news! I used to be a photoholic but my passion dropped off a little over the years and I’ve only recently just started to pick it back up.

These macros are beautiful, I can’t wait to see more of your shots from the G60!
